The One Eye Film Festival is Dubbo Filmmakers flagship event, becoming a fixture on Dubbo’s cultural calendar for over a decade. The festival has grown from a local platform to showcase locally made short films to inviting national and international short films.

The One Eye Film Festival in Dubbo NSW, Australia was originally created in 2012 as an opportunity for local filmmakers to screen their films.

We have since added categories for other Australian and international filmmakers to share their short films to give local audiences and filmmakers wider exposure to the form.

Filmmaker Info

There are no prizes, there is no theme. We exist to promote filmmaking and film viewing around Dubbo and surrounding areas and to give independent short films a chance to be screened to an enthusiastic live audience.

Every year we see a wide a range of films. All genres welcome:

  • Student films

  • Narrative

  • Documentary

  • Music video

  • Experimental

  • Video art

  • Anything you can think of!

Films do not necessarily need to be family friendly but we will not consider films with overly-graphic sex or violence.

We strongly encourage you to include with your project files at least one photo and a trailer or teaser - this makes it a lot easier for organisers to promote your project (if selected).

Please note: longer short films may be accepted by arrangement - please get in touch if you would like to be considered.

To optimise the quality of your submitted film, make sure you view it on different devices (e.g., computer monitor, TV, etc) to identify and correct any quality problems with sound or picture.
